My personal musings about anything that gets on my radar screen--heavily dominated by politics.

My Enemy's Enemy

Mike Littwin, the Rocky Mountain News' hard-left columnist, had this to say about Ken Salazar's introduction of Alberto Gonzalez this week:

I'm not sure what the record is, but let's give Ken Salazar, Colorado's new senator, the benefit of the doubt.

What we do know is that it took Salazar less than one week on the job to be co-opted by the White House. And that has to be, at the very least, close to the new-guy-in-town speed mark.

Okay, sure--the introduction could have been a carefully scripted event to impress Colorado moderates; for that matter, even Littwin's scorn could be calculated to provide Salazar some cover.

But I have never seen anything from Littwin to indicate that he's capable of that sort of cleverness, so, for the time being, I'll accept the premise that he was both surprised and bothered by Salazar's actions. Which strikes me as a good thing.

Sad that it came from a Democrat.
